Children and the Social Net works

The Social Net works, and our children's safety?

We are certainly living in the trend of technology and no one can say other than that. My children use technologies before learning how to walk. The curiosity children have are enormous and they are on the go of trying to know many things in life including every single detail around them.

As they start to go to school, meeting new faces, friends, who come from different parts of the land, Our children get to have and develop peers whom they want to stay " connected " with one another outside the school time. I do not have problem with that, but as a parent we do need to set boundaries for our children and limiting the access to these social net works.

Social net works are expanding around the globe, they are becoming the means of communication in this generation and I appreciate the fact that the technology has a lot to offer. However; They are becoming more than staying connected with peers and family. It was being abused by some ( which is sort of bullynisim) to post many information about the individual that post a threat to their safety. We have seen many cases of suicides of teens where their privacy got violated or were tricked by other people.

The point that I am trying to make is that, we do not need to submit another social net work to our kids where they have the texting services on their phones. If they have some assigned homework, I ask the parents to be accompanied with their kids until they finish their chores.

Troubles always starts when teens have spare time and they do not know what to do. Then problem will start to formulate and Voala, you will have a predicament.

Good points and I think the key is keeping teens busy with work and other activities. If they are too young to work, I think limiting their computer time and helping them understand safety on the internet is important.

Good luck with your writing and welcome to Hubpages.

Thanks for taking the time and reading my post, engaging small children and young siblings in activities would help to build mind and spirit. In addition to that, It would help to build a character and set the tone for the importance of having an organized schedule in life. Taking the young generation to gyms would help them in exploring other options in life which is certainly not facing the net for a post by another user.
